Developments:
- Pharmacy won’t be open on Saturdays – otherwise same hours as usual M-F 8.30-5.30
- Oxford Observer/Bulletin will be doing a short weekly newsletter to all households, starting next week
- Oxford Trust is available for prescription pickups
- Butcher is closed for retail sales, can still process kills
- Fresh Choice has a one-way system through the aisles – best to work out beforehand what you need, because back-tracking to a previous aisle is not permitted and you’ll have to go all the way round again
- It’s okay to drive a short distance to somewhere you can walk your dog
- It’s okay to drive to the bank if you can’t do the banking any other way
- It’s okay to drive to the vet if your animal needs care
- Advice keeps changing about how long COVID-19 lasts on surfaces – however, transmission this way is still a relatively minor risk compared with personal contact – wipes, sanitiser, hand washing, disposable gloves that are disposed of, use a tissue to touch it and then dispose of the tissue safely – avoid paranoia and anxiety which are greater risks right now
- JPs have suspended all services, so won’t be available even by appointment
- if you need to swear/affirm an urgent affidavit (e.g. for an urgent protection order), I can do that in the meantime – lawyers are awaiting an expected update from court/law society to allow this to occur without needing physical presence, or to allow unsworn affidavits in the interim
- Teddy bears are known to send long-distance hugs (it’s a special power they have), so every time you see a teddy bear you know you have had a hug – and this applies to adults as well as children
