Thanks to Chas Livermore for suggesting ‘yellow submarine’ as a possible theme song for a video starring Fresh Choice’s super security guy (Ben) and locals who normally have online businesses…
The idea being (a) relieve tedium; (b) relieve Ben’s voice; (c) have fun as a community; (d) go viral through news media and social media; (e) free advertising for our local online businesses who can sell and ship nationwide once the lockdown is over.
Once again last night I couldn’t get to sleep, and my brain was buzzing so I let it buzz.
These are only suggested lyrics – open to improvement or indeed full replacement.
However, someone else needs to do the video and organise the chorus etc etc. Really – it won’t be me!
Chorus is to the tune of ‘We all live in a yellow submarine…’
All it needs now is some happy people (and/or teddy bears) acting it out – maybe filming our ‘local stars’ who dance in Fresh Choice’s aisles holding an advertising sign for their business, and Ben who points to everything and does a little jig at the right moments, and Fresh Choice team waving and smiling at appropriate moments in the lyrics….
Chorus:
When we step outside our quarantine
To buy our bread and cream [this could change each time to something else that scans and rhymes – ‘veges green’ ‘own icecream’ etc]
We’ll keep it tight and clean
Ben explains the changes in the scheme
He does it with a beam
As he keeps those handles clean
Ben:
You should plan what you will buy
And wait until there’s room
To steer your trolley through
Be patient, do not zoom!
(Chorus)
Ben: (or maybe Mike or someone else from Fresh Choice)
You can pass, don’t stop to chat
Follow the arrows,
don’t nip back,
Please pack the bags you bring
And raise your voice to sing
(Chorus)
Ben:
When you pass back through the doors
Use the hand cleanser once more
Put your trolley to the side
So I can keep it sanitised
(Chorus)
